Awards
The 6 year old Hixson Underdogs ended this all-star year with record of 29-10 and finished 8th in the World Series. They were the Tennessee State Champions for their age group. Head Coach Greg Headrick sends a special thank you to Joey Warwick, Jonathan Layman and Bobby Walls for all their help. The team’s accomplishments were a direct result of those three coaches. The parents were great each and everyone contributed so much. A special thanks also to Melissa Headrick, the team Mom. She is the greatest team mom ever.....We love you from the Hixson Underdogs.
The 7 year old Hixson Black Sox finished 3rd in the district tournament hosted here at HYAA. A special thanks from all of the members of our board to Rob Uhorchuk and the Black Sox parents that helped in the park to make this tournament a success.
The 11 year old Hixson Bombers won the East Ridge Invitational in June. They also were rewarded for their class and character in the state tournament by being chosen for the Sportsmanship Award. The team capped off the year with a trip to see the Atlanta Braves play.
The Chargers capped off a very successful season in the 13/14 age group by claiming victory at their state tournament.
